About:
There is no escaping the sun's relentless waves of chest compressing heat in the desert. Just when heat exhaustion is on the verge of defeating you, a breeze starts to subtly stir about. The breeze builds into a swirling storm of wind and sand spiraling around…this is the sound of Pollination.

Pollination is the moniker of Nick Noeding, Jr., desert storm chaser, mirage fabricator, and electronic musician from Albuquerque , New Mexico .

Nick got his start working on an old 8 track reel-to-reel in high school, experimenting with different recording techniques and teaching himself how to play drums and guitar. In 2002 he attended recording school in Phoenix , AZ and then moved to Los Angeles where he worked as an intern and assistant engineer at a small studio. Nick eventually found himself in Albuquerque and began experimenting with sound.

Over the years, the sound has evolved from simple tape looping experiments into a noisy, lush combination of distorted analog synths, frantic drum machine programming, field recordings, blown out guitar walls, and buried found sounds. Often shimmering, sometimes gloomy, delayed guitars give way to giant, wobbly drums in a combination that seems to sometimes walk a fine line between genres.

Nick has self-released a few albums under various names and has done remixes for other artists, including Yppah, Ape School , The Russian Futurists, and The Shins. He is also involved in several collaborative efforts, namely an electronic/shoegaze project called Day of the Woman with Joe Corrales (Yppah) and Dave Salinas (Stenographer), and 10k Cities, a more beat-oriented project, with John Brugmann (Zoomzip). He also is part of the Yppah live band.

The debut EP "Inca Orange" drops August 11 th , 2009 on San Antonio , TX based Exponential Records.
