Rae Davis, "Positive Thinking" 5" CD (EXP-11)
After receiving praise for his contribution on the compilation, Wait til the Ice Melts, Rae Davis delivers on his first album, "Positive Thinking." The album is part jazz inspired rhodes melodies floating though hard glitched beats that are just as much electronic as they are hip hop...thoughtful smart compositions that you can't help but break your neck to. The album features a remix by Textual as well as additional production on Old Pianos by Diego Chavez.

Various Artist, "Wait til the Ice Melts" 5" CD (EXP-10)
It was a abysmal day when Alaska joined the union and Texas lost the bragging rights of largest state in the U.S. The most popular saying of the time round these parts was, "Wait til the Ice Melts." A mighty wind is stirring in Texas these days drifting in new sounds from the lone star state. Wait til the Ice Melts is a compilation of new music emerging from Texas but it's not the strum of acoustic guitar you might expect. Instead, the album features an assortment of electronic, indie, and downtempo experimentation from 14 of Texas' brightest producers and bands. So dust off your perception and ya'll take a listen.

Ernest Gonzales, "While on Saturn's Rings" 5" CD (EXP-09)
"Taking cues from 8-bit games of yore, downtempo, and even a little indie-rock, Ernest Gonzales could find himself at home with Morr Music or Anticon artists alike. Combining melancholic guitarlines, subtle vocal samples, and acoustic hip-hop percussion, this San Antonio-based producer is on the road to making a name for himself in any number of musical circles...interesting, delicate, and slightly banging all at the same time." - XLR8R

Theory of Everything, "Lullaby"
3" CD (EXP-05)

Lullaby is what would happen if Timbaland hooked up with the Postal Service to create the soundtrack to the dreams of 8 bit Nintendo characters. The latest CD by Theory of Everything takes a dramatic departure from anything else the producer has made. The concept for the album was inspired from the news that Theory, aka Ernest Gonzales, is a father to be. "I wanted to make music for my baby to fall asleep to...my original idea was to create peaceful sleep inducing music and what came out is very dreamlike and electronic."

DJ Jester, "Heavily Booted"
5" CD (EXP-01)

"This mix orginally ran on the NYC based, WFMU on Re:Mixology with DJ Jesuspants. Here is what their website, www.wfmu.org, had to say: San Antonio, Texas represents on the show tonight with DJ Jester, aka "The Filipino Fist", also a member of the Genuine Electric Latin Love Machine and official driver of the Boca Burger Mobile. Tonight Jester does up a live mix, and based on his past records where artists like Ice T, Pavement, Devo, Iron Butterfly and Ennio Morricone all shared the same closet-space, expect anything to happen. Jester even promises that Yo La Tengo's cover of Daniel Johnston gets the scratch-treatment tonight!
