DJ
Jester the Filipino Fist
About: In
July of 1976, Dr. and Mrs. Gregorio P. Pendon gave birth to
their fourth kid. They named it Michael. Raised
in the backwoods of West Columbia, TX (50 miles south of Houston),
Miguelito always knew he didn't quite fit in, that is...until MySpace
came along. Damn, I finally have "real friends!!!!!" I dj
(on the side) and market stuff like Boca Burgers (on the main) throughout
the US. Meaning, I travel A LOT. Did I mention that I am the dj for
a group from Pittsburgh called Grand Buffet? How about that I am in
a turntable band with this dude from Canada they call Kid Koala? So,
yeah...like that dj thing has taken me all over the frickin' world:
Europe, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Japan, etc. And I still
ain't done yet... I am very independent. I sort of have two homes:
San Antonio and San Francisco. I tend to leave TX for long periods
at a time, but it always keeps sucking me back in. When I am at home,
I clean, I sometimes cook (I make a delicious "trailer magic"),
I ride my bike. I enjoy films, mostly of the "ethnic variety." I
enjoy food, mostly of the "ethnic variety." I have a brand
spankin' new mix cd coming out in 2006 called SECRET LOVE, which should
be available at the merch booth in January/February when I hit your
town on tour with Of Montreal + Grand Buffet.

Ernest
Gonzales aka Theory of Everything
About: My
name is Ernest Gonzales and I am a "Hyphenated American" aka
Hispanic, Chicano, Latino, or Mexican - Whatever you want to call it.
I grew up next door to the Alamo, but my Spanish is muy pequito. I
am the only child of an electrician father and a Home Depot customer
service rep mom. Latch-key
only child = video games, drawing trees, making bow and arrows, too
much MTV, and pizza pockets. Somehow
in between engineering camps I decided to go to art school but
I have no plans on painting the Virgen de Guadalpe. During that
time
I used extra scholarship money to buy my first drum machine. See
kids...it does pay off to make good grades. All
this leads to music production. I have no plans on making any
raggaeton beats. So I leave you, Ernest Gonzales, a Hyphenated
American making
music. Hip Hop, Experimental, Electronic - whatever you want to
call it.

Diego
Chavez aka Aether216
About: Aether216
is the alias of Diego Chavez, a 21 year old soft-spoken multimedia artist.
Diego spent his childhood summer days at his father Carlos Chavez art
studio conversing with painters, surfing the internet, and daydreaming.
With a strong passion of hip hop and skipping school to jam with friends,
Diego soon began producing beats as a member of the conscious and poetically
based hip hop group Lotus Tribe. As Aether216, Diego's solo music has
floated away from hip hop and has become more organic yet technical.
Diego's music speaks without words...it is an epiphany...the slow motion
sequence...that perfect moment
in time.

Darby
About: Darby’s
spark into the musical fray just happens to be illegal. Getting his hands
on audio software that produced a series of tones, mimicking those used
by analog payphones, allowed him to make free phone calls, but more importantly
set him on the path of producing music. That was ’97. Over the
next few years he busied himself producing beats with San Antonio emcees,
co-founding the Labkids, and collaborating with San Antonio hip-hop
cohorts the Sleepwalkaz, Imperial Lynx, DJ Shon, DJ Jester, Mickey Pop,
and DJ Donnie Dee. He’s gone on to produce two albums, ‘Death
of a Salesman’ and the forthcoming ‘Children’s
Hell’, produce music for instillation pieces by Philadelphia based
artist Carole Leoffler, and navigate the growth of Labkids. This kid’s
deep. Underpinning his entire bag of beats is a musical philosophy steeped
in the science and theory behind sound and how the body and mind react
to it. Think Nikola Tesla. Packing as much emotion as possible into each
beat Darby strikes with each track to accomplish his maxim of making music
for advanced
listeners.

Mnolo
About: Mnolo
is Manuel Antonio Escobar, a half El Salvadoran half Nicaraguan music
kingpin and beat smuggler. Escobar, the second of three children in
a family of doctors and lawyers was born in Pennsylvania, raised in
the backwoods of Texas, and Catholic schooled in San Antonio. Needing
some kind of outlet for the Central American rhythm flowing through
his blood, little Manuel began playing drums at age 5. Eventually,
Escobar traded drums for a sampler and began producing electronic experimental
rhythms. As Mnolo, Escobar
creates otherworldly sound environments translating messages of bliss,
fervor, fear, love, pain, joy, and anguish. Oh yeah...and he enjoys,
freaking drums beyond recognition, layering vocal tapestries, harddrive
mixing and who could forget...walks in the park.

About: A.M.
Architect is the side project of Diego Chavez aka Aether216, and

Panic Division. A.M. Architect's music combines Rhodes played by
Stanush combined with Chavez's intricate pixelated
drum & melody samples. The project developed on down time with
the Panic Division & continued
via email with each other exchanging beats and melodies. Although
it is generally accepted that beauty is subjective, A.M. Architect's
music cannot escape being described as such.

Rae
Davis
About: Rae
Davis, a 24yr old mexican native of Texas who grew up on the streets
of San Antonio, found much refuge in basketball, movies and music.
Growing up to the sound of oldies, soul, tejano, and lots, and lots,
and lots of Rap. Rae started his career as a musician in high school,
learning piano and guitar, and soon after started dabbling in music
production. His musical resume is vast, citing everything from indie
rock bands to film scores to jazz bands to, of course, hip hop projects.
Rae recently begin working on his album that is due out this spring. "Positive
Thinking" a record that is heavily influenced by jazz, r&b
and soul, yet stills draws on the driving beat of hip hop. His other
influences range from Allen Iverson to Nas, to Terrence Malick and
J Dilla. While he is currently enjoying writing his own music; Rae's
dreams are to score films and be able to dunk a basketball.
